Fern Little Walters of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully on January 24, 2025, at the age of 99. Born on July 19, 1925, in Mecklenburg County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Oliver Rudolph Little and Beulah Conner Little.

Fern’s life was a tapestry woven with love and resilience. Known for her vibrant personality, she navigated the world with determination and a fearless spunk that inspired everyone around her. Fern touched the lives of many. She ventured into tax preparation in her earlier years, where her meticulous nature shone through.

A lifelong member of Davidson United Methodist Church, Fern’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. Her love for music was evident in her passion for playing the organ. She found joy in simple pleasures, whether it was embarking on cruises, gathering with family for card games, or rooting for the Atlanta Braves. Even in her 90s, she embraced every opportunity to dress up for special occasions, radiating elegance and charm.

Fern was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Raymond B. Walters; and her granddaughter, Keila Patrick; along with her brothers, Willard, Charles, Vaughn and Kelly Little; sister “Nick” Little; nephews, David and Eddie Little; and niece, Carol Keziah, leaving behind a legacy filled with love and laughter.

She is survived by her daughter, Dreama Patrick; granddaughter, Kelly Patrick (Mike); nephews, Rob Little (Debbie), Steve Little, Jim Little and Tim Little; niece, Ronna Ann Harrell; and her cherished furry companion, Phoebe. She is also survived by special friends, Carol and Sophia Bowes, who admired her zest for life and familial bonds.

The funeral services for Mrs. Walters will take place on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at 2 p.m. at the Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel in Mooresville. Prior to the service, family and friends will have the opportunity to gather for a time of reflection and remembrance from 1 to 2 p.m. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Eastview Cemetery in Newton, N.C. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Mooresville Fire and Police Department for their unwavering support.
