Gallant Douglas Miller, 74, of Davidson, N.C., passed away on Thursday, January 30, 2025, at his home surrounded by loved ones.

He was born on February 21, 1950, in Charlotte, N.C., to the late Gallant Clifford Miller and Govanna Hubbard Miller. Doug was a 1968 graduate of Northwest Cabarrus High School and received his associate degree in business administration from Central Piedmont Community College. He was a member of Coddle Creek ARP Church in Mooresville. He loved all forms of auto racing and was well known in the hot rod community. He was proficient in woodworking, gunsmithing, and fabricating. Doug enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a hands-on man who could pretty much do anything. He was a mountain man and loved going to his home in Crumpler, N.C.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Sandra “Sandy” Robinson Miller; son, Doug Miller (Lindsey); sisters, Diane Keever (Doyle) and Denise Kelly; twin brother, David Miller (Judy); grandson, Britton Miller; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and “his boys,” his beloved dogs Sunny and Stormy.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. and Monday, February 3, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Coddle Creek ARP Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 3, at Coddle Creek ARP Church with Rev. Andrew Shoger and Rev. Luke Grigsby officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
