Hannah Lee Eidson, 77, of Union Grove, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, in Winston-Salem, N.C. She was born on September 12, 1947, in Forsyth County, N.C., to Glen Lee Eidson and Lillian Harris Eidson.

Hannah attended Union Grove High School and went on to graduate from Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk. She worked as the director of Continuing Education at Mitchell Community College and eventually retired from the Davie County Health Department.

She was a member of Union Grove United Methodist Church and attended Northside Baptist Church in Wilkesboro. She also enjoyed many years of volunteer work at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2031 in Statesville.

Hannah was preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Linda Mendenhall and Rosa Goodin.

She is survived by her daughter, Alanna “Laney” Smith of Statesville; grandchildren, Loren Walker (Jesse) of Roaring River, and Garret Smith and Colton Edwards, both of Statesville; a special “son,” Richard Edwards of Statesville; and a special “daughter,” Jeanne Gaither of Olin.

The family will receive friends at Union Grove United Methodist Church on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 2 until 3 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Jason Whitley officiating. Burial will be private.
