Inge Dippolito passed away peacefully on February 21, 2025, at the age of 88.
Born Ingeborg Martha Maria on March 23, 1936, to Simon Willmy and Elisabeth Jaeger in Würzburg, Germany, Inge spent much of her childhood in Kleinrinderfeld, Germany, among close family.
Inge continued life’s journey when she immigrated to New York City in 1957, building a new life with resilience and grace. Upon arrival, she was welcomed by her Uncle Ludwig, Aunt Clara and cousin Linda. Inge and Linda became like sisters, offering each other a lifetime of unwavering support.
On February 14, 1959, she married her beloved husband, Anthony Dippolito, beginning a 58-year partnership filled with love and adventure until his passing in 2017.
Inge’s talents shone brightly in her career as a bilingual executive secretary, where she worked with distinction at Lufthansa and for the Senior VP of Marketing of Hoechst-Celanese, blending her German roots with her American dreams.
Inge put her career on hold to become a devoted mother to Drew and Tom. Inge’s heart expanded further as she welcomed to the family her daughters-in law, Michel and Marisol, and became “Oma” to her grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Alli, Michael, and Jake. She cherished every moment spent with her husband, children, and grandchildren, filling their lives with warmth and laughter.
In her free time, Inge found joy on the golf course, at the bridge table, traveling, preparing holiday meals, and in the simple pleasures of a life well lived.
Inge leaves behind a legacy of strength, kindness, and connection that will live on in her family and all who knew her. She will be deeply missed.
Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville, is serving the family.
