Jack Edgar Moore, 93, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on December 20, 1931, in Mooresville to the late Flate and Hattie Griffin Moore. Jack was a 1952 graduate of Mooresville High School. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Navy. He was the proud owner and operator of D.E. Turner Hardware in downtown Mooresville. His passion for the hardware started at the early age of 14. He proudly served the Downtown Mooresville community for over 79 years. He loved telling his stories and showing his customers around. He called them his friends! When he wasn’t sharing stories at the hardware, he loved spending time with his family, especially his adored grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara “Bobbie” Shields Moore; brothers, Johnny Moore, Fred Moore, and infant Billy Moore; sisters, Ellen Clark and infant, Sylvia Moore; brother-in-law, Arnold Clark; and sister-in-law, Mildred Moore.

He is survived by his loving children, Donna Lane (Tommy), Nancy Davidson (Jeff), Jackie Justice (Ronny Williams), and Danny Moore; brother, Jim Moore; sister, Linda Earley; sister-in-law, Cheryl Moore; grandchildren, Jessica Stanley (Tee), John Patrick Justice (Allison), Daniel Moore, and Alyssa Moore; great-grandchildren, Jack, Emma, Grace, James, Sam, Charlie, and Maggie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, at the Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park.
