James “Jamey” Todd Sloop, 52, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Monday, March 17, 2025.

He was born on November 6, 1972 in Catawba County, N.C., to Linda Overcash Estes and Franey “Sonny” Sloop. Jamey attended Christ Community Church in Mooresville. He enjoyed building things, cooking, fishing, and hunting.

Jamey is survived by his children, Cody Sloop, Sydney Sloop, and Lacey Sloop; mother, Linda Overcash Estes; father and stepmother, Sonny and Evia Sloop; brother, David Sloop; grandson, Jaxon Sloop; five nieces and nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, March 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
