Jeannine Lucille Dessert, 86, passed away Friday, January 17, 2025.
Jeannine was born in Woonsocket, R.I., to the late Omer Trudeau and Antonia Carmel Trudeau. She was a proud graduate of St. Clare High School in Woonsocket, R.I. She found great joy in her roles as a wife, mother, and grandmother, creating cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. Throughout her years, Jeannine was a source of unconditional love for her family. She poured her heart into nurturing her children and was a constant presence in their lives. She was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church. Her unwavering faith and devotion to God were evident in everything she did, shaping her life and guiding her through the challenges and joys alike.
Jeannine had a passion for gardening and she possessed a creative side that was reflected through her crafts. Her love for traveling and the beach allowed her to experience the world and share these adventures with family and friends.
Jeannine was preceded in death by her parents and brother Robert Trudeau.
She is survived by her loving husband, Normand Dessert; brother, Roland Trudeau; sister, Murielle Boucher; children, Charles (Lisa) Dessert, Marcel (Lori) Dessert, Monique (Jim) Sacs, Celeste (David) Stevens, Nicole (Mark) McCoy, Collette (Kevin) Lynch, and Jocelyn ( Rick) Vallante; grandchildren, Drew, Jasmine, Danielle, Deanna, Laura, Mathew, Andrew “AJ”, Alexander, Emma, Max, Austin, Cody, Sophia, Micah, and Evan; and great grandchildren, Nick, Rayleigh, Liam, Link.
A visitation to honor Jeannine will take place on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nicholson Funeral Home, located at 135 E Front Street, Statesville, NC 28677. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, situated at 525 Camden Drive, Statesville, NC 28677.
