Jeffery Clinton Barnette, 48, of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Monday, January 20, 2025.
He was born on September 3, 1976 in Cabarrus County, N.C., to Loretta Fleming Walton and the late William “Bill” Bruce Barnette. Jeffery was a 1995 graduate of Mooresville High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a huge N.C. State fan. Jeffery was an avid golfer, enjoyed watching football, being outdoors, going to the mountains, kayaking on the New River, and always put on a heck of a Fourth of July fireworks celebration. He loved his family, friends, and spending time with them, especially his daughters.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Haddie Marie Barnette; father, William “Bill” Barnette; brother, Lee Alexander Barnette; and his maternal grandfather, Robert Fleming.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Beaver Barnette; daughters, Kayden Elizabeth Barnette, and Ava Lea Barnette; mother, Lori Fleming Walton and husband Gerald “Bubba”; stepsister, Kristi Hyman and husband Jeff; maternal grandmother, Thelma Nance; maternal step grandmother, Elizabeth Fleming; and niece, Olivia Barnette.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 26, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. in the church fellowship hall with a service following with military honors at 4 p.m. at Southside Baptist Church Mooresville with Dr. Rev. D. Steven Gouge officiating.
