Lamar Ellis Eudy, 84, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House. Born in Stanly County on October 7, 1940, he was the son of the late William “Bud” Eudy and Margaret Ruth Burris Eudy.

In addition to his parents, Lamar was also preceded in death by one sister, Amelia Barringer.

Lamar spent most of his working career traveling the 48 continental United States as a truck driver. He received recognition for traveling Five Million Miles during his 40 years of service.

He enjoyed fishing and water skiing, and earlier in life he enjoyed flying planes.

For 64 years, Lamar shared his life with his bride, Frances Almond Eudy, who survives. From their union, he leaves a legacy behind which includes his children, Lyndall Eudy of Mooresville, N.C., Tammy Eudy Seaford (Chip) of Mocksville, N.C. and Allen Eudy (Olga) of Clemmons, N.C.

He is further survived by his grandchildren, Dustin Seaford (Megan), Megan Godbey (Brandon) and Caden Seaford; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Sidney Eudy and Ervin Eudy; and one sister, Myra Helms.

The family will receive friends Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.

The funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Darren Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.

Serving as pallbearers will be His Yellow Trucking Company friends, Jim Thinnis, Reid Johnson, Gary Broome, William Abercrombie, Woody Webster and Frankie Ferrell.
