Larry Edward Beam, 76, of Mount Ulla, N.C., passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2025. He was born on March 6, 1949, in Iredell County, N.C., to the late Paul and Mary Sigmon Beam.

Those left to cherish Larry’s memory are his loving wife of 55 years, Diane Martin Beam; son, Eddie Beam and wife Jennifer; grandchildren, Seth and Morgan Beam; bonus grandchildren, Kimmons and Slade Cartee; brother, Rodney Beam (Irene) of Merrills Inlet, S.C., and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Larry proudly served in the U.S. Army in Vietnam. He was the owner of Larry E. Beam Grading from 1984 to 2008 and then partner in LEB Builders until retirement.

Larry was a member of Centenary Global Methodist Church and served on various committees over the years. He also served on the Board of Directors of the NC Septic Tank Association for over 20 years.

Larry’s favorite thing to do was to drive his dump truck and be on a tractor. He always had a pack of crackers and an apple nearby. He loved going out to eat around town, especially to Pie in the Sky.

Family was most important to Larry. He was proud of his grandchildren, loved his son, and adored his wife Diane. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Centenary Global Methodist Church, Mount Ulla, N.C., with Rev. Brad Treece officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 3 to 4 p.m. at the church.
