Laura Eudy Howell, 91, of Glen Ellyn, Ill., and formerly of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.

She was born on March 1, 1933, in Cooleemee, N.C., to the late Robert Glenn Eudy and Hattie Bean Eudy. Mrs. Howell graduated from Mooresville Senior High School. She was a retired secretary, working with Wheaton North Athletic Department for over 40 years and then St. Andrew United Methodist Church in Carol Stream, Ill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David C. Howell.

She is survived by her children, Vicki Howell of Statesville, N.C., Debra Cohen (Michael) of Iowa, David C. Howell Jr. of Westmont, Ill., and Derek Howell of Naperville, Ill; sister, Nancy Essary of Concord, N.C.; grandchildren, Trenton Harlan, Kimberly Howell, and Bradley Howell (Carly); and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 5, from 10 to 11 a.m. with a service following at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Morris officiating. Burial will follow the service at Glenwood Memorial Park.
