Lawrence DeLoach, 82, of Stony Point, N.C., passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
Lawrence was born December 22, 1942, In Dixon County, Va., the son of the late Ernest DeLoach and Icy Blair DeLoach.
He was the kind of man who found joy in the simple things—working the land, breathing in the mountain air, and sharing a good laugh with those he loved. His sense of humor lit up every family gathering, bringing warmth and laughter to even the quietest moments. A true mountain soul, he found peace in the rhythm of farm life and pride in hard work. Above all, he deeply adored his wife, cherishing their life together with unwavering love and devotion. His presence was strong, and his memory will always feel like home.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Reynolds DeLoach; his children, Mark Anthony DeLoach, Kay Bryant, Sabrina Bowers, Angie Sigmon, and Ronald Edwards; a sister; and six brothers.
Those left to cherish and honor his memories include his children, Wayne DeLoach (Niki), Janet DeLoach, Loria Griffin (Mike), and Tommy DeLoach (Emily); nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 19, 2025, in the Adams Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Nazareth Advent Christian Church Cemetery in Lenoir.
