Mr. Leroy Turner, 85, son of the late John Archie and Dousia Houpe Turner, was born in Iredell County, N.C., on July 17, 1939. He departed this life on January 1, 2025.

Mr. Turner was a graduate of the Iredell County Schools and Campbell University. He also received his master’s degree in social services. Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the U.S. Air Force, from where he was honorably discharged. He was also a licensed massage therapist.

He was preceded in death by a son, Michael L. Turner, his siblings, John Phillip Turner, Clarence Robert Turner, Margaret Albert Turner Levell, Henry Arthur Turner, Leonard Steven Turner and John Archie Turner Jr.

He leaves to cherish the memories of his life a brother, James L. (Frances) Turner of Raleigh; a sister, Mildred A. Patterson of Somerset, N.J.; a brother-in-law, John Levell; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, including his caregivers, who were his nieces, Jeanne Turner of Hickory, Monica Turner Lee of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Pamela Turner Swindler of Greensboro.
