Yesterday, I was hit like a freight train with the devasting news that the matriarch of our family had made her final transition to that next place which us among the living can’t yet follow. My grandmother, Linda Faye Cain Reavis—my rock, my guide, my first home—whom I’ve only ever known as “Nannie”had passed away.
They say writers don’t cry; they bleed on paper. With tear-filled eyes and blood-stained ink, I’ve written a tribute to the incredible woman she was—Matriarch, Pioneer, and the Greatest Teacher I’ve Ever Known.
Her resilience shaped our family; her love anchored us. This is for her, and for the lessons she left behind. This is for her, and for the lessons she left behind. I hope her story inspires you, as it always has me, to love deeper, hold your family closer, and never take a single moment for granted.

Rest easy, Nannie. Now go rest high on that mountain. Your work here is done. I’ll take it from here. 🙏 ❤️ ♾️
