Karen Lisa Grandt Grimes went to be with the Lord on February 14, 2025. She was born April 25, 1962, in Ft. Belvoir, Va., and was the daughter of the late Karl F. Grandt.
In addition to her dad, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Connie Grandt; sister, Kristine Carl; brothers, Karl “Buddy” Grandt III, James “Dusty” Grandt, and David Grandt; and her fur babies, Sparky and Lacy Grimes.
Lisa was the most beautiful soul. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her immediately became a friend of hers. She began every morning with her husband, drinking coffee and talking about their plans for the day. She began dating her soon-to-be husband in 1997 and quickly began a beautiful life with him, raising their two daughters who were born in 1998 and 1999. She loved nothing more than taking care of her little family. She was always showing her family off every chance she got. She loved being a “momager,” making sure every aspect of her family’s life was taken care of.
She had a gift when it came to haggling and loved a good deal more than anyone. Along with taking care of her family, she enjoyed chatting with her husband, daughters, and friends, going shopping, quilting, sewing, crocheting, catching up on her TV shows, and taking care of her lab, Max.
She will forever be remembered for her contagious, unconditional love. She loved and cared for everyone that she met. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She leaves a lasting legacy to be cherished by her survivors, including her husband of 25 years, Michael Grimes; daughters, Morgan and Tanner Grimes of Mooresville, N.C.; sisters, Kathy Grandt of Sarasota, Fla., and Kay Jappinga and husband Vince Tucker of Mooresville, N.C.; and her fur baby, Max; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all of her beloved family and friends for their unwavering compassion and love given to her. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
To respect Lisa’s wishes, there will be no services.
