Lynda Fields Jones, 74, of Statesville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at Glenwood Health and Rehab.

She was born on October 28, 1950, in Iredell County, N.C., to the late Robert G. Fields and Mary Lee Ritchie Fields. Lynda is a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Troutman. She enjoyed hanging out with her grandsons, gardening and working out by the pool. Lynda loved watching NASCAR races and Carolina Panthers football games. Some of her favorite memories included eating pizza with her family and trips to the beach. Because she was born at the end of October, her favorite holiday was Halloween.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Paul Jones; and a grandson, Cooper Hamilton.

She is survived by her children, Kristina Jones Hamilton (Matthew) and Kenneth Paul Jones; sisters, Barbara J. Merrell (Dale) and Mary Ann Brockwell; brother, J. Daniel Fields (Gail); grandsons, Davis and Blaine Hamilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 12, from 1 to 2 p.m. with a service following at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home with Chaplain Russell Files officiating. Burial will follow the service at St. Michael’s Cemetery in Troutman.
