Mable Janice Drake Eudy, 84, of Olin, N.C., died on March 21, 2025, at Brookdale Assisted Living-Peachtree in Statesville, N.C. A native of Stanly County, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Henry Sylvester Drake and Loma Jancie Huneycutt Drake. In addition to her parents, Mable was preceded in death by her sister, Kay Brattain.

Mable was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Olin. She retired from First Union Bank in 2004, but is remembered for her love of shopping, reading, cleaning the house, cooking (particularly hams and meatloaf), and decorating. Even more memorable was the love she shared with her family, particularly her grandchildren Cody and Nick and her great-grandchildren who brought her great joy.

Mable married the love of her life, Philas Lane “Johnny” Eudy, on October 19, 1962. In addition to her husband Johnny, Mable is survived by two daughters, Misti Dawn Eudy Tennant (Kevin) of Yadkinville and Amy Jo Eudy Lynn (John) of Olin. A sister, Jahala Almond of Albemarle, survives her as well along with two grandchildren, Cody Tennant (Taylor) and Nicholas “Nick” Tennant (Neely), both of Yadkinville. Three great-grandchildren, Piper, Sawyer and Callie Tennant, all of Yadkinville, also survive her.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. A funeral service officiated by Pastor David Childress will be held at 12 noon in the sanctuary of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
