Margie “Cha-Chi” Laney, 60, of Stony Point, N.C., passed away January 12, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville, N.C., following an extended illness. She was born in Alexander County on January 25, 1964, to the late Randall Jackson and Patricia Parks Jackson.

Survivors include one son, David Laney, and his wife Tiffany of Salisbury; two daughters, Kala Laney, and wife April of Stony Point and Kimberly Hicks and fiancé Vincen Johnson of Stony Point; one brother, Randy Jackson of Florida; two sisters, Donna Prevette and husband Joe of Stony Point and Tammy Pritchard and husband Todd of Hiddenite; and eight grandchildren: Molly, Aidan, Paul, Nathaniel, Brianna, Alayna, Xander and Riley.

A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
