On Saturday, February 21, 1959, a beautiful sweet delicate flower was born in Iredell County, N.C., to Keith Stewart and Mary Elizabeth Jordan Stewart.
Mary Ann Stewart was educated and graduated with her high school diploma from the North Carolina School for the Deaf in Morganton in 1977.
After residing in Mooresville after graduation, Mary relocated to Charlotte, N.C., to live for the past 33 years. Mary was employed in various vocations with her last place of employment being with Goodwill Industries in Charlotte for many years. Mary enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, and was an avid shopper.
In addition to her parents, Mary’s eldest brother, Ernest (Pete) Jordan, and Mary’s sister and personal American Sign Language interpreter, Rebecca Stewart, and Mary’s niece, Samarra Harris, and a brother-in-law, Oscar Harris, also preceded her in death.
On Wednesday morning, April 9, 2025, God smiled at Mary as she entered His loving arms to rest.
To cherish her memories, Mary leaves behind her eldest sister, Elizabeth Harris of Statesville, N.C.; her brothers, James Stewart and Franklin Stewart of Mooresville, N.C.; a sister-in-law: Carolyn Jordan of Cornelius, N.C.; an uncle: Frank Jordan of Davidson, N.C., two aunts, Helen Carter of Brooklyn, N.Y., an Dorothy Colson of Davidson, N.C.; two beloved best friends, Barbara Lowery of Mooresville, N.C., and Tori Johnson of Charlotte, N.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. (Ephesians 2:10)
