Patricia Ann McCarthy Blattner, 79, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

She was born on June 4, 1945, in Chicago, Ill., and adopted by the late Patrick and Marie Craig McCarthy. Pat always wanted to serve and care for others. She deeply loved children and provided foster care for numerous babies through Catholic Charities of Chicago.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret McCarthy, and her former husband, Allan J. Blattner.

Pat is survived by her sons, Allan Patrick Blattner (Carolyn) and David Craig Blattner (Lisa); grandchildren, Patrick, Sabine, Andrew, Marguerite, and Raine; and her nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 23, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
