Ralph Byron Ensminger Jr., 81, beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend went to Heaven on December 31, 2024.
Ralph lit up the room with his bright smile and larger-than-life personality. He had so much love in his heart that it radiated around him; to know him was to love him. He never met a stranger, and his big heart was only matched by his giant appetite and love of food. He touched the lives of everyone he met with his kindness and love.
Ralph was born to Ralph Byron Ensminger Sr. and Edna May (Miller) Ensminger on November 8, 1953. Ralph was a highly skilled carpenter and mechanic. He loved being outdoors and could often be found cruising around town on his motorcycle. He and Vicki had a love for travel and were often planning their next adventure on the sea. Making special memories was very important to him. He loved his family with all his heart.
Ralph will be deeply missed by his beautiful wife of 51 years, Vicki Ensminger. He had four children that adored him, Angela (Tim) Auber, Robert Ensminger, Christyne Ensminger and Laura (Peter) Ross. His grandchildren cherished him, Nicole Ensminger-Cook, Dakota Ensminger, Anniston Auber, Mitchell Ensminger, Alexis Ensminger, Alaina and Addison Ensminger, Peter Byron Ross, Crysta Both and Rhett Ingersoll. His great-grandchildren treasured him, Bella Ensminger, Joie Ensminger and Kai Both. He held dear his sister, Belle Whipple, and brother, Jack (Carol) Ensminger. His beloved niece, Nancy (Dennis) Smith, always held a special place in his heart.
Ralph will forever be in our hearts. His memory will live with us all forever because of the love and laughter he shared. This is not goodbye, but until we meet again.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 5, from 12 to 1 p.m. with a service following at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home.
Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory, Mooresville, is serving the Ensminger family. Condolences may be made to the family at www.cavin-cook.com.
