Russell Lee Lancaster, 83 of Statesville, N.C., died Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Iredell County on September 6, 1941, to the late Clyde Lancaster and Pauline Rimmer Lancaster. He was also preceded in death by four brothers, Melvin, Cletus, Clifton, and Eddy; and two sisters, Brenda and Tyanne. Surviving siblings are two brothers, Hubert and Denny; and one sister, Sherry.

Russell retired from Doosan/Dana after many years there. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army as a medical corpsman. His hobbies included fishing, going to the beach, collecting guns, and spending time with family.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Vicky Wise Lancaster; three sons, Tim Lancaster (LuAnne), Steven Lancaster (Angela), and Shawn Lancaster (Amanda); five grandchildren, Craig Lancaster (Jessica), Brandon Lancaster, Malia Lancaster, Elizabeth Lancaster, and Emma Lancaster; one great-grandson, Parker Bowman; and many nieces and nephews.

At his request, there will be no services.
