Samuel Furr Gibson, 71, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at PruittHealth – Town Center in Harrisburg, N.C. He was born on February 27, 1953, in Mooresville to the late Mack and Rose Furr Gibson.

Mr. Gibson was a 1971 graduate of Mooresville High School and attended Central Piedmont Community College. He was a member of Grace Church in Harrisburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Rene Hinote, and her husband Lloyd; and his cousin, Paula Mangum.

He is survived by his son, Tyler Gibson; stepmother, Jean Gibson; and his cousin’s husband, Carl Mangum.

A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, February 28, at Sunset Memory Gardens in Charlotte.
