Sherrill Deaton Shaver, 80 of Turnersburg, N.C., died Monday, January 13, 2025, following an illness. He was born in Iredell County on November 25, 1944, to the late Harold Roscoe Shaver and Eloise Deaton Shaver.

Sherrill worked at Celanese (later Kosa) in Cleveland for 25 years. He loved to watch sports, especially football, NASCAR and Atlanta Braves baseball. He always enjoyed working on cars and had a total of nine Ford Mustangs during his lifetime. He was a wonderful father and grandfather who worked hard and taught the difference between right and wrong.

Those left to cherish his memory include two daughters, Tara Shaver Rowland and Debra Shaver O’Hara (Scott); two grandchildren, Jackson Rowland and Andrew O’Hara (Danielle); one great grandson, Holden O’Hara; and a sister, Linda Redmond (Wayne).

A Gathering of Friends will be held Friday, January 17, 2025, at Nicholson Funeral Home from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
