Todd “Poke” William Klopp, 68, of Mooresville, N.C., went to be with the Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
He was born on February 9, 1957, in Lima, Ohio, to the late Robert William Klopp and Dora June Klopp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Klopp; and nephew, Aaron Crumrine.
Todd graduated from Lima Shawnee High School in 1975. He attended and graduated from the United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. He was commissioned in 1979 and retired after 20 years of service as a Lieutenant Colonel.
Todd married Emily Riley in 1980 and after traveling the world together they retired in 2019 to Lake Norman, N.C., where he lived in great health and happiness with his family.
Without question, the most important aspects of Todd’s life were his faith and family. He was a devout follower and witness for Christ. His love for his wife and family were unsurpassed.
He leaves a legacy to be cherished by his survivors, including his wife of 45 years, Emily Klopp; daughter, Olivia, and husband Robert Childress, grandchildren, Esther, Maeve, Winston, Dixie (dog); son, Zane, and wife Catherine (Tharp) Klopp of Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Daniel, and wife Janice; sister, Sandy Crumrine; and sister-in-law, Marsha Klopp; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life with full military honors will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, Mooresville.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Navigators Organization.
