Wanda Lee Hoke “Kay” Wike, 77, of Taylorsville, N.C., passed away Friday, April 11, 2025, at Iredell Memorial Hospital. Wanda was born on July 11, 1947, to the late Leroy Hoke and Colleen Hoke Stikeleather.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Wike; and one son, Gerald Wike.

In her younger days, she loved to plant flowers around the house and hanging plants. She loved hearing her windchimes while sitting on the porch. As she got older, she enjoyed seeing her kids and grandchildren. Then she became ill and stayed in the house most of the time but would get out when she could. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two sons, Eddie Wike and wife Cindy Rita of Hiddenite and Gary Wike of the home; one daughter, Rita Payne of Taylorsville; two brothers, Dennis “Deny” Hoke and Roy “T-Boy” Hoke; two sisters, Genive “Dimp” Chapman and Marie “Tooter” Bradburn; six grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
