Wayne Eugene Rogers, 81, of Troutman, N.C., passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at the S. Mitchell Mack Hospice House in Mooresville, N.C.

He was born on May 29, 1943, in Pulaski, Va., to the late Dewey Nelson Rogers and Jessie Boyles Rogers. Mr. Rogers was a veteran who served in the US Army. He was a graduate of Troutman High School and former owner and operator of Tar Heel Lumber Company in Statesville. Mr. Rogers was well known in his community and always willing to lend a helping hand; many people benefited from his generosity and compassion.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Vince Rogers and Bobby Rogers.

He is survived by his sons, Shane Rogers and wife Natasha, and Joshua Rogers and wife Jennifer; sisters, Wanda Rogers McCoy and husband Bill, and Anna Rogers Case; brother, Jerry Rogers; grandchildren, Mason, Aaron, Flynn, Olivia, and MacKenzie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 23, at Troutman Church of God with Rev. Connor Lambert and Rev. Michael Carr officiating. Burial will follow the service at Iredell Memorial Park in Statesville.
