It is with hearts filled with both sorrow and hope that we announce the passing of Wesley Brian Loudermilt, 62, of Statesville, N.C. Wesley passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior at 1:18 a.m. on March 20, 2025, at the Gordon Hospice House.
Wesley was born on May 6, 1962, to Frank Loudermilt and the late Barbara Fox Loudermilt. He was a graduate of Statesville High School and Wilkes Community College.
He was a beloved son, husband, father, and bubba. Wesley had been married to his devoted wife, Donna Reep Loudermilt, for 38 years. He is also survived by his only daughter, Tiffany Loudermilt Layne (Preston), and two grandchildren, Harrison and Blake Layne.
Wesley created a beautiful life during his years on earth and leaves fond memories that his family will forever cherish. He grew up on N. Lackey Street, where he was surrounded by a strong community of family and friends. Wesley loved cheering on the Statesville Greyhounds where he previously played drums in the marching band. Throughout his professional career, he was a proud paramedic and retired after 23 years of service to Iredell County EMS. Being a paramedic was a large part of his identity, and he touched many lives through the self-sacrificing work that he did. Wesley also spent time operating a trenching business for many years. He loved spending time in his garden and being outdoors. Wesley loved going to the lake, swimming in the pool, camping outdoors, teaching his daughter to hunt and fish, and any time spent with his family.
Wesley and Donna created a beautiful life together and accomplished many of their dreams. Wesley was an exceptionally loving father, who was an active part of his daughter’s life. He would frequently volunteer for school activities and volunteer as a coach. Wesley was much beloved by his family and will be terribly missed on this side of heaven.
Wesley was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Fox Loudermilt. He is survived by his father, Frank Loudermilt; his wife, Donna Reep Loudermilt; his daughter, Tiffany Loudermilt Layne (Preston); his grandchildren Harrison and Blake Layne; his brothers Keith (Trish) Loudermilt and Chris (Tammy) Loudermilt; along with nieces and nephews.
We rejoice knowing that there is healing and salvation through Jesus so that we will be reunited with him one day.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 24, in the Troutman Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Mike Motley officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will visit with friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 23, at Troutman Funeral Home.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I went to school with Wesley and we graduated from same school. He was an awesome person. May he rest in peace. My prayers are with the family.
I was Wesley’s EMS partner for several years. He kept me laughing and we had some great memories! I was saddened to hear of his passing. He always talked so much about his beloved daughter Tiffany. RIP Wesley!
