William Randall “Randy” Sumrow, 46, of Mooresville, N.C., passed away peacefully on March 7, 2025, at his home. Born on February 13, 1979, in Charlotte, Randy was the cherished son of George Locke Sumrow and Sally Yvonne Lisk Sumrow. He grew up in Mooresville, where he graduated from Mooresville High School in 1997. During his school years, he proudly played as #81 tight end on the football team and was an active member of the golf team, becoming one of the first members of the Mooresville Golf Club.

Randy continued his education at Appalachian State University and built a successful career as the President of G & S Contracting, Inc., in Mooresville. He was a passionate sports fan, expressing unwavering loyalty to the Michigan Wolverines, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Kentucky Wildcats basketball team. Beyond his professional accolades, Randy was a devoted family man and a super proud cheer dad, always cheering for his daughter, Emma Grace Sumrow.

Randy leaves behind a loving family, including his beloved wife of 20 years, Heather Nicole Sumrow; his daughter, Emma Grace Yvonne Sumrow; his brother, George Sumrow Jr. (Julie); and his sister, Susie Sumrow Bailey (Kevin). He is also survived by his dear nieces, Rachel and Sarah; nephew Joey (Raley); great-niece Maggie; and his loyal fur babies, Princess Leia and Bogey.

The family is deeply grateful to VIA Health Partners for the compassionate care they provided during Randy’s illness. In honoring his memory, a service celebrating his life will be held on Monday, March 17, 2025, at 6 p.m. at the Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home in Mooresville with Rev. Matt Hearn presiding. Friends and loved ones are invited to join the family in a time of reflection and remembrance.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Go Fund Me on Randy’s Facebook page to assist with medical expenses during this difficult time. The Sumrow family appreciates the outpouring of love and support from the community.
