To the Editor:

I thought I would share what I stumbled upon a few days ago while I was leaving the Big Lots store in Statesville. An elderly lady’s car was not working, and a lovely Statesville police officer came by to check on her. He realized that her battery was dead and helped her jump start her vehicle.

I wanted to share such a sweet picture because our police officers are dedicated to serving our community in any way they can. In this controversial world we live in, where there is so much division and hate, I want to remind everyone that there is also still plenty of love and compassion.
