Margaret Etta Hanks Wilson, 89, of Statesville, N.C., passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at the Gordon Hospice House.

Mrs. Wilson was born March 5, 1935, in Alleghany County, N.C., and was the daughter of the late Arthur Hanks and Ruth McKnight Hanks. She was a graduate of Scotts High School and was married to the late Donald Wilson. She was a mother, raising two children, and she also worked for Rowan Medical Supply.

She is survived by two children, Mike Griffin (Cindy) of Cornelius and Lisa Brown (Leon) of Statesville; six grandchildren, Mykel Myers (Josh), Rob Griffin (Patricia), Meredyth Holdenrid (Mike), Courtney Spencer (Tom), LA Brown (Amy), and Anne Teller (Josh); 13 great grandchildren, Cru Myers, Echo Myers, Samantha Mansfield, Matthew Mansfield, Jacqueline Mansfield, Braden Holdenrid, Caleb Holdenrid, Ashby Spencer, Hadley Spencer, Atwood Brown, Penelope Brown, Fisher Brown, and Lennon Teller; two great great granddaughters, Elena and Gracie; and a great niece, Sara Waugh.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Harold Hanks.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Friday, April 26, 2024, at Troutman Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Iredell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will speak with friends following the service.
